Renesas Global Senior Vice President Toshihiko Seki Visits THINKANTECH’s Nanjing Headquarters to Advance Digital Power Joint Laboratory Collaboration

On August 8, Renesas Global Senior Vice President Toshihiko Seki and his delegation visited THINKANTECH’s Nanjing headquarters for in-depth discussions on the co-development of the Digital Power Joint Laboratory. The two parties also exchanged views on future cooperation and market promotion between Renesas Electronics and THINKANTECH Technology in digital power applications based on wide-bandgap power semiconductors.

On June 6, Renesas Electronics, a global semiconductor solutions provider listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under ticker symbol 6723, and Nanjing THINKANTECH Technology held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Nanjing and announced the establishment of a Digital Power Joint Laboratory. Since then, the two companies have leveraged their respective technical strengths and extensive industrial application experience to pursue breakthroughs in cutting-edge digital power technologies.

Together, they have developed a series of high-efficiency, high-power-density digital power solutions, accelerating technological innovation in the industry and providing digital power application engineers with more options for project development.

They held in-depth technical discussions with THINKANTECH Chairman Dr. Fred Fu, THINKANTECH CEO Kong Lingtao, and the company’s senior technical team on digital power applications based on wide-bandgap power semiconductors, including GaN and SiC.

Both parties agreed that GaN- and SiC-based digital power technologies have significant growth potential in fields such as photovoltaic and wind power, automotive electronics, and server power supplies.

Ultimately, the two companies reached a consensus to fully leverage Renesas Electronics’ digital MCU capabilities and THINKANTECH’s GaN and SiC power semiconductor advantages. Together, they will promote the development of digital power solutions for photovoltaic and wind power, automotive electronics, server power supplies, chargers, energy storage PCS, and other applications, driving the industry toward higher power density and more efficient energy conversion.
