Against the backdrop of the bustling electronica China 2024 exhibition season, the highly anticipated Wide-Bandgap Semiconductor Technology and Industry Chain Innovation Forum was successfully held on July 8–9 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Concurrently, the “Wide-bandgap Semiconductor Technology and Industry Chain Innovation Forum” was successfully held as part of this premier industry event.
The forum was jointly organized by Semiconductor Industry Network, Wide-bandgap Semiconductor Industry, and Messe München Shanghai, with Beijing McKenbridge Advanced Materials Productivity Promotion Center Co., Ltd. serving as organizer and Suzhou Xinsandai Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. as co-organizer.

The forum brought together nearly 20 distinguished industry leaders and technical experts from across the wide-bandgap semiconductor ecosystem, including representatives from National Wide-bandgap Semiconductor Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, Fudan University, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Infineon Technologies, Nexperia, and THINKANTECH.

THINKANTECH was honored to have its Director of Application Engineering, Huan Liu, invited to speak at the forum.
Mr. Liu delivered a keynote presentation titled:
“Making E-Bike Charging and Battery Swapping Systems Safer and More Efficient with Wide-bandgap Power Semiconductors”
In his presentation, Mr. Liu:
• Highlighted the dominant role of electric two-wheelers in short-distance mobility
• Identified emerging technical requirements for next-generation charger systems
• Emphasized the advantages of wide-bandgap semiconductor-based chargers, including high conversion efficiency, low thermal losses, compact form factor, and enhanced portability
Through data analysis and practical case studies, he demonstrated how wide-bandgap power semiconductors are applied in charger designs. He also shared key engineering considerations, including gate-driver tuning and optimization, PCB layout practices for GaN power devices, parallel-device current sharing for power scaling, and accurate measurement techniques for critical PCB nodes.
His presentation provided both technical insights and practical engineering guidance, contributing to the advancement of electric two-wheeler charging technologies.
