Nanjing, China - June 18, 2024 - Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE: 6723), a global leader in semiconductor solutions, and Nanjing THINKANTECH Co., Ltd. today held a formal signing ceremony in Nanjing to announce a strategic partnership. The two companies will jointly establish a Digital Power R&D Laboratory, leveraging their respective technical expertise and industry experience to drive breakthroughs in next-generation digital power technologies.

Through this collaboration, both parties aim to co-develop high-efficiency, high power-density digital power solutions, accelerate technological innovation, and meet the evolving demands of the industry.

Jointly Released Solution

At the signing ceremony, Renesas and THINKANTECH jointly unveiled a Three-Phase 5 kW Bridgeless PFC Digital Power Solution.

Key features include:

• totem-pole topology

• Supports AC 380V to DC 700V PFC conversion

• Incorporates advanced digital power control algorithms

• Scalable design supporting applications up to 15 kW

This solution delivers high efficiency, reliability, and scalability, making it suitable for applications such as AI servers, data centers, renewable energy systems, and industrial equipment.

The solution is built on the Renesas RA6T2 MCU, which integrates:

• Arm® Cortex®-M33 core

• High-speed ADC

• High-precision timers

• Hardware accelerators for trigonometric functions and biquad filtering

• 120 MHz high-speed flash memory

These features enable fast control-loop response, enhanced motor/control algorithms, improved parallel processing performance, and optimized cost efficiency.

Target Applications: AI servers, data centers, electric, industrial systems
