Nanjing, China - August 8, 2024 - Mr. Toshihiko Seki, Senior Vice President of Renesas Electronics, led a delegation to visit the headquarters of Nanjing THINKANTECH. The visit focused on in-depth discussions regarding the co-development of the Digital Power Joint Laboratory, as well as future collaboration and market expansion strategies for digital power applications based on wide-bandgap semiconductors.

Strengthening Strategic Collaboration

Following the strategic partnership agreement signed on June 6, 2024, where Renesas Electronics (TSE: 6723), a global semiconductor solutions provider, and THINKANTECH jointly announced the establishment of a Digital Power Joint Laboratory.

Since then, leveraging their complementary technical expertise and deep industrial application experience, the two companies have made steady breakthroughs in pioneering digital power topologies.

Together, they have introduced a succession of high-efficiency, high-power-density digital power reference designs, significantly accelerating industry innovation and expanding system-level design options for digital power application engineers worldwide.

During the visit, Mr. Toshihiko Seki, along with Mr. Qing Shen, Director of China Marketing for the Embedded Processing Division at Renesas, held a closed-door technical summit with THINKANTECH’s executive board, led by Chairman Dr. Fred Fu and CEO Mr. Lingtao Kong, alongside key technical architects.

The technical exchange focused on the application of GaN and SiC power semiconductors in digital power systems, with particular emphasis on emerging opportunities across key sectors.

The leadership teams achieved strong alignment on the massive, high-barrier growth trajectories emerging within renewable energy grids (photovoltaic and wind power), automotive electronics, and hyperscale server power supplies.
